Some helpful context:
~ My name is Sarah Badgett. (Nice to meet you, lovely to know you!)
~ Below is a helpful timeline. Under that are additional details.
2021: Applied for the World Race (Feb). Blog starts here.
2022: Went on the World Race (Jan–Dec)
2023: Returned home from the Race. Lived in Knoxville, TN all year
Present day: (Nov. ’23) asked to alumni squad lead for World Race (semesters)
2024: I’ll be leading a 4-month trip to Africa (Jan–April)
~ In February of 2021, I applied to do the World Race, a missional program through a Christian organization based in Gainsville, Georgia called Adventures In Missions (henceforth known as AIM). This is where the blog timeline begins.
~ For all of 2022, I traveled around Central & South America, as well as southern Africa doing mission work alongside 17-20 other people (aka my “squad”). I went back to Honduras in January of 2023 to see old friends in ministry with some squad-mates.
~ I returned to my hometown (Knoxville, TN) in 2023, and have remained there all year. I, simply put, live among wonderful community, and spend my days working (leading kickboxing classes, petsitting, and copywriting), hanging with friends, making new ones, and recharging my social battery with Jesus.
~ I was asked Thursday, November 9th, 2023, to come back to AIM and alumni lead for a semesters trip (4 months) to Africa. The deadline was the following Monday.
~ You’re caught up: I agreed to lead Monday evening (the 13th).
~ I’m leaving January of 2024. I’m currently fundraising $6,000 for leading this trip. I’ll be away January 3rd–April 27(?). If you’d like to help ya girl out, check out this link. 🙂
~ No, I have no clue what comes after April. I’m always open to suggestions, though!
~ No, the dog in the picture isn’t mine. He’s a client’s– I just asked her if I could take cute pictures with him. She said yes. My clients are the best.
